Small Acts of Kindness

We all appreciate small gestures of kindness, especially when they come as a surprise. I used to find myself randomly cleaning one of my siblings houses or buying them flowers just because I felt like doing something nice. On the last day of my previous job, I left everyone a gift card with a written hand note.

What may be small to you, may be huge to someone else. Almost two years ago it was placed on my heart to buy a woman some flowers at church. I kept pushing it off but on Valentine's Day, I surprised her with a bouquet at church. She was so ecstatic and moved by what I considered to be a small act of kindness. I recently ran into her and she told me how she still thinks about when I bought her those flowers.

If someone has been laid upon your heart, don't just dismiss the thought. Do a little something nice for them. You never know how you might brighten someone's day.

Embracing The Unexpected

Wouldn't it be wonderful if everything in life went as planned and without any glitches? Of course, it would. You apply for a job and you get it. All relationships work out. You relocate and everything just falls into place. To some, this might sound perfect. But to those who have gained valuable lessons through experiencing hard times, we're okay with a few unexpected turns.

In this life you'll have a plethora of things to go right, just as you intended, and other times you may have to undergo things not always going as planned. Don't become unhinged when this occurs. God will allow things to happen often time to challenge and strengthen our faith and position in Him. If you feel completely lost, which is normal, it may be a sign that you need to draw closer to Him.

Thanks for reading.

New Season

The weather is changing, the leaves are falling, and the Northern Hemisphere is resetting itself. Fall has always been my favorite time of year because although nature is shedding away the old, it does it in the most beautiful way.

So, to be in sync with nature, when seasons change within our lives, lets embrace it as gracefully as mother nature.  It doesn't have to be ugly, dramatic and disdainful. Let change happen. Out with the old and in with the new.

Take It Easy

Have you ever just let things happen naturally? There's a song by Toni Braxton titled 'Let It Flow' from the soundtrack of the movie Waiting to Exhale. Aside from her beautiful melodic voice, the lyrics "Let it flow" just has an easiness to it. Admittingly I haven't always been the most easy-going person. I rushed things beyond their time and often made attempts to drag others with me. Experience has taught me a new approach. It is called taking it easy.

When we rush into things, whatever the case, it often feels like a vinyl record scratching. Our lives are a constant spinning sphere. When our soul is right and atmosphere is clear, everything that we're supposed to have within a certain time frame will gravitate to us. There's no need to pull at anything. Natural timing creates that natural flow.

Traveling Mercies

In this life you will experience all sorts of things. Some of those experiences will stagnant you while others will push you forward. Others may hurt you or give you the best feeling of your life. At the end of it all, you made it through them all.

God, in His Omnipotence, walks with us during our life encounters. Although somethings may have appeared to be the lasts blow of our humanistic experience, we manage to make it through. I strongly believe that He graces all of us with a certain amount of traveling mercies through our good decisions as well as our bad. So, if you're currently walking upon unsettled ground, just know that you have a traveling companion that you can lean on at any time.

Go For It!

If you're waiting on someone to make your dreams happen, you'll be waiting for a long time. Often when we find ourselves feeling emotionally unsettled, we look inward to discover that we really want more out of life. Some of us would like to start our own businesses, others may wish to travel more. Whatever the case, things won't progress beyond a mere thought if we never step out and start somewhere.
Today if you have a desire to do something that you've been putting on hold, start the process of accomplishing it. Write out a plan of action and timeline it.

Have a nice weekend.

I'm sure that you have heard the saying, "It's not where you begin but where you end" before. There is so much truth to that statement that sometimes gets overlooked predicated upon one's circumstances. You can begin a journey lolloping around, completely unaware that you have even embarked upon one and after some time, gain your bearings long enough to attain a steady and progressive pace.
Wherever you may be in life, appreciate not only where you are but where you've come from. We can be so hard ourselves when reflecting on how far we've come instead of seeing the blessing in it.

They say that "Timing is everything" although perfect timing is often unpredictable. We tend to stress so much about it because we believe that our actions control everything. If I have learned anything throughout my life, it is that you can worry to your wits' end, just for things to happen as they may. The best advice that I can render is to just be ready. Things often have "perfect timing" because everything was right where it should be.

Sometimes we put an enormous amount of pressure on ourselves to make good decisions based off of limited knowledge. But life is a process with a lot of learning curves. If you've ended your good streak of making awesome choices, don't throw yourself away. Mistakes are prone to happen at some point in your life. Learn from them and move on.

Have an awesome day.
