Often time, we give up just when we're closest to the thing that we've been working for. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to stop a workout video three minutes before it ended. Yes, three minutes!
When you're feeling like that extra step is going to take everything out of you, take a break if you have to but don't stop moving. What you've been waiting on is right around the corner. Keep the faith. It's closer than you think.
I used to be one of those people who constantly felt obligated to make sure everyone else's dreams and ambitions came into fruition, even at the neglect of my own. I attended countless events where I was the first to arrive and the last to leave only to be left feeling used and guilty. Guilty because I knew that I should've been putting the same amount of energy that I was giving to others, to myself.
Don't be so afraid of succeeding or failing that you invest in others more than you do yourself. Those individuals that you're giving your time to, took a chance on their dreams. How unfortunate if you allow yours to just slip by.
Our fears are not always easy to face but overcoming them can sometimes mean success or failure. I can remember having an acute fear of public speaking. I would skip assignments that involved me standing in front of the class thereby reducing my overall grade. To me, it was worth the sacrifice. I've also passed up on career advancements and financial opportunities due to the fear of being judged by everyone that would be watching me. It never occurred to me that the spectators weren't perfect. I just simply took all my insecurities and used them as a crutch to walk away again and again.
Recently, something has changed within me. The reality of not accomplishing everything that I'm supposed to do, outweighs any insecurity that I may have. I listened to a sermon on yesterday that encouraged the listeners to denounce fear and to walk in faith and authority. I was so inspired that I'd faced another fear within the hour of hearing that message.
It may not be the easiest thing in the world to do, but facing the fear that has been stagnating you, will provide you with a certain amount of leverage to reach goal after goal. You may have to have a few conversations with yourself and even God but do it! Remember, "God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind", 2 Timothy 1:7.
Early morning can be the best time to reflect. You get a jump start on your day by spending time with God and generating ideas that will give you a leg up towards productivity. I have noticed that when I walk out doors, my thoughts begin to run across my mind as if I'm writing in a journal. I have nothing to worry about but keeping pace, so I'm at peace to allow my thoughts to come and go as they please.
A little walk can go a long way. You'll feel refreshed and perhaps clearer. A lot of the things that we deal with on a day to day basis, get shelved. Let's clear some of that clutter out this week by taking a nice walk.
Many of the questions that we have, have been answered already. We pray for direction when direction has already been given. Sometimes we forget previous experiences that should've been lessons. This can be due to us not properly dealing with situations head on, by just taking some time and sitting with it.
If we're ever going to make it to a place of wisdom and understanding, we are going to have to start dealing with life experiences more comprehensively. This can be done by examining why a situation has occurred, what was the result, and what could have been done differently. Once we have looked at it face to face, we will be more prone to make better decisions when like situations arise.
We often get stuck within our ways, even when our way doesn't always work. There's a certain comfort in the familiar, so no matter how much we hate the results of it, we'll allow the hamster wheel to keep spinning in the wrong direction. But when something isn't working, it's time to try something new. That could involve safely dating outside your level of comfort, switching professions, and or changing locations.
Comfort zones aren't always a bad thing, but if you allow them to control the narrative of your life, you may end up missing out on something spectacular. You know the areas in your life that could use a little shaking up. And if you haven't been getting your targeted results, perhaps trying something new will.
It's human nature to have a sort of 'Right now' mentality which is why there's been a huge market created for any and everything to be available at a moment's notice. With that, it has become increasingly difficult to tame our desires for instant gratification. But during this instantaneous crave, there are a few who have pushed past the norm to a place of process and time. Meaning, everything doesn't have to happen right away, and we're okay with letting the clock tick.
Due to everything being at our fingertips, we must make an effort to reprogram ourselves to just let things happen. In order to arrive at this place of contentment and patience, takes prayer and meditation. Once we learn how to breathe easy and trust in God's will, those things that once appeared urgent tend to become minimized. Perhaps it is time for us all to tap into our 'In due season' state of mind.
From the time that we hit the sandbox up until the time we hit the alter, we're told repeatedly to be true to who we are as individuals. Being yourself is a constant struggle for many. I've watched people make attempts to be faithful to everyone but themselves. Meaning, they betray who they are in order to manipulate different situations within their lives.
Neglecting who you are, whether it's to gain favor or acceptance, is in fact manipulation. Unfortunately, this act usually ends up hurting you because you can only appear to be something that you're not for so long.
If someone isn't willing to accept you for who you are, then perhaps those individuals aren't meant to be a part of your life. Don't neglect the most important person, yourself, by putting on a facade to vibe with others. Be your own vibe and the people that are supposed to be in your life will surface.
