It’s not always about how you feel. I have made the mistake of believing that I’m not supposed to be somewhere or embarking on this new thing because it didn’t feel good. When has fighting ever felt good? Sometimes it’s just necessary.
Studying didn’t feel good until 2:00 a.m. in the morning during my college years but walking across the stage and receiving my diploma felt amazing. Child labor most certainly didn’t feel good but seeing my babies eyes glaring at me for the first time was joyously unexplainable. I say this to remind myself and others to not depend solely on your feelings, some things will not feel good until you reap the reward. Love and light Davina S.

Sometimes I find myself growing frustrated with the many steps and turns that my life takes but those turns and changes often teach me things that I often utilize down the road. Even with the added gems that I pick up along the way though, I still get tired and yearn for calm waters. This is the time where I find myself praying, meditating, and fasting more. I then find strength and power to forge ahead and not give up. My journeys usually end at great places. So I say to you, keep growing and going because good things take time.
Love and light Davina If the past three months have not taught me anything, it's that operating in fear will stunt your growth. We pass up on so many great opportunities that can enhance our way of living because we're used to being comfortable. I can honestly say that I no longer mind a little discomfort if in return, I'm taking the necessary steps that will lead me towards my purpose and keep me on my path.
Majority of the success stories that I've heard involved someone tossing their fears aside and stepping out on faith. Today examine what you're interested in accomplishing and take the first steps to accomplish it. Make a plan and don't contemplate so much on whether you'll succeed or not. Experience has taught me that when I fall, I'm strong enough to get back up. Be well. Davina S. There were times in my life that I tended to get overwhelmed with my inability to gain instant results. I would find myself pushing things to the back or just walking away entirely exhausted from failure. But when I grew tired of always coming up short and not getting my desired results, I knew that something had to change and it had to start within me.
My biggest fear was fighting for what I wanted and losing. I didn’t want to feel failure so when I thought I wouldn’t make it, I quit. Today I’m proud to say that I’ve begun staying for the end result no matter the turn out. I would have never known what I was capable of if I didn’t put my hands up, be strategic, and push forward. If you’re tired of losing because you’re quitting, stop quitting! It’s better to lose having tried than to forfeit creating an endless cycle of regret. Davina Sims It’s that time of year again. The trees have developed their red, yellow, and orange leaves. We’ve transitioned from tank tops and sandals to scarfs and boots. There is just an overall desire to settle down around this time and reflect. A lot of us have already started making plans for next year while others are sitting back enjoying the fruits of their labor from accomplishing things throughout the year.
Whatever position that you’re in during this season of harvest, enjoy it. Don’t skip this time of year and go straight to winter, it happens for a reason. Allow your mind to rest a little and take the necessary steps to enjoy this time of reaping. Davina Sims |
