DO WHAT YOU LOVE

I believe that society has taught us to only love what feeds our bank account without any consideration of what feeds our souls. Vincent Van Gogh wasn't a rich man, neither were those who created some of the most well known ancient artifacts in the world that we freely enjoy but decades and centuries later, we can't imagine the world without them. They contributed pieces of themselves, in spite of mental and emotional oppressions and now we are rewarded with the fruits of their labor.

I get asked sometimes do I make money off of my blog? The simple answer right now is no. This question, alongside the constant flow of YouTube videos offering advice on how to make money off of your blog, caused me to doubt my love for writing and sharing my thoughts. I placed a monetary value on something that I simply enjoyed doing. 

It would be nice to get paid for writing and if an opportunity presented itself for me to get paid, I would most certainly take advantage of it, but it is not a requirement. 

Love what you love and be at peace with it.
