![]() Have you ever wondered if the person that you are dating has ever lied to you? Are they breathing? Both men and women have been found guilty of being dishonest, especially when you're just getting to know each other. Sometimes it's for the sake of not scaring the other person away or maybe because you have an ulterior motive. Whatever the case may be, WE LIE, and then we lie to cover up the lie until we have a web of lies. Why? When dating, we sometimes sell what doesn't exist. We like to sell the future us that no one has seen or even heard of. We're not even sure if we'll ever actually become that person but we have to plan accordingly, so we deceive ourselves and deceive others hoping that one day we will live up to our own expectations. But wouldn't it just be easier to, as the church would say, come as you are? You're going to show up anyway. Why not give another person a fair chance to get to know the real, in my case, weird and wonderful you. I've come to embrace my imperfections and wear them proudly for that imperfect guy. But in my days of playing pretend I've come across some interesting things that both sexes lie about to avoid telling the truth. SHE SAID: I like making my own money and buying my own things: She may indeed love being able to provide for herself, but she really wants you to at least offer. I've never cheated: Most of us don't consider running into the arms our EX when our current relationship isn't working or when we feel mistreated as cheating, but the fellah's would disagree. Often times when women feel underappreciated or insecure, they run to a more secure location. And whose more secure than the man that has been flattering and calling her since he found out that she was unavailable (note when she was available his affections possibly weren't as strong). I actually like being single: LOL I don't want any kids right now: Every woman over the age of thirty who wants children, wants them NOW! NO medical examination is needed because she has microscopic vision. My last break up was a mutual decision: Someone got fired. HE SAID: I make six figures yearly: Before taxes, child support, alimony, bills, transportation, food, clothing, medical expenses, savings, students loans, and entertainment. Most guys say what they think you want to hear because upon seeing you, all of your "qualities" cost $$$. Hair, eye's, makeup, nails, and your VH1 personality. I've never cheated: If you ask a guy the same questions three or four times, you'll eventually get the truth. They're horrible liars. I can see myself being with you long term, I'm just currently not ready: Most men will never come straight out and tell you that they're not interested. I don't know why. They will cheat on you, make you cry, shake you, bake you, toss you towards the ceiling and then say, " you're a good woman I'm just not ready", before they say you're not the one. I don't want any children: He wants them, he just wants them with someone else. And the thought of being tied to you forever, frightens him into temporary celibacy. I'm not a player: LOL. Most men who are players and love it, won't admit to actually being one as if saying it demeans their character more than the actual act within itself. I'm not a sales person, I just sell a lot. So as you can see, we all have lied at one time or another. But with age, comes maturity. Be you, be true. Davina S.
