I started a new job recently and of course it has new people. As a social introvert, professional extrovert, I have already spoken to myself repeatedly about how to behave. "You will respect the feelings and opinions of others. You will choose kindness over intolerance. You will be professional to the point where no one can imagine what you could possibly be like outside of work." It was a very demanding conversation and funny thing is that if someone else were to approach me in this manner, I would be highly upset. So I refocused and changed the narrative of the conversation from abusive and intolerant to patient and considerate. "You'll do great. You'll exceed even your own expectations. This is another step for you in the right direction. You'll learn and grow even more." The second conversation felt better.
With that being said, talk nice to yourself today.
