Toughing It OutWhen life serves you lemons, it's okay to cry like hell and THEN make lemonade. We're often encouraged to be strong by those close to us when we're facing tough times but this advice can be narrow and frankly not very realistic. There's nothing like falling and while you yet lie on the ground, have a group of people yell at you to get up and be strong. Naturally when you fall, you rarely land on a soft surface, you're usually in a complete state of shock, and last but not least, you feel completely exposed which makes it completely acceptable for you to shed a few healthy tears. We've all cried so there is absolutely nothing for you to feel guilty about.
Our tears are a blessing from God. A good cry can lift a heavy burden off of your shoulders in a matter of minutes. It somehow calms you and allows sensibility to appear on the scene and do its work. So the next time you find yourself experiencing a tough time, allow yourself to feel. If that involves crying, then let the rivers of life flow. The Bible says that God bottles our tears.
