People have several different reasons for starting a detox, it's the mental clarity for me. For the past couple of years, I have made several promises to myself that I haven't kept due to an unhealthy lifestyle. So perhaps these next seven days will get me on the right track towards a better and healthier lifestyle.
Today I mostly consumed fruits starting my morning off with an apple and a pear. Later I ate another plate of fruit that consisted of watermelon, black berries, cherries, mango, and a serving of almonds for a little protein. I made sure to drink plenty of water in order to flush away toxins and to remain hydrated.
I was content with not eating any cooked foods but there were times when I felt pretty hungry. Thankfully, I was able to stay the course and forge ahead. At around five or six I started to get a little bit of a headache which was able to be slightly remedied by drinking more water.
Overall, today wasn't as bad as I anticipated. My energy level wasn't affected but when I felt a little tired towards the end of the afternoon, I took a quick cat nap, which on other days, I most likely would have ignored.
I also wanted to challenge myself spiritually, so I decided to focus on the book of Proverbs for the next seven days. My plan is to read all 31 chapters to aid in my intent to develop more wisdom and clarity. My sense of direction hasn't been at its' finest lately and I've been experiencing some doubt and regret concerning old decisions that may be the result of some of my current discomforts. One day down, six more to go.
